One reason for this is that chaise lounge chairs typically have a partially-reclined back. Their casual style promotes relaxation rather than forcing you to sit awkwardly straight upright.
Another reason that an indoor chaise lounge is more comfy is that it provides an elevated area on which you can put your feet. Now you don’t have to find the nearest coffee table and risk kicking over your drink.
But There are Problems…
Indoor lounge chairs get expensive. You can easily pay as much for a 1-person lounge as you would a 3-person sofa. Even the cheapest ones average between $200 and $300. That’s not a way to save money!
These chaise lounges can be bulky and take up lots of space. Yes, the nicer ones are often are super cozy, but you won’t be able to seat many people in the room. Well you can always have your friends sit on the floor, right?
They are also heavy and awkward to move around. Sure, you may not plan on moving your furniture around much, but what if you needed to? Or what if your living room sofa weighed just 10 lbs? Do you think you might re-arrange your furniture more often?
Until an Inflatable Chaise Lounge Solves Those Problems…
When I first saw the Intex Inflatable Mega Lounge, I did a double take. Was the $30 price tag a misprint? Was the lounger actually smaller than it looked? What was the catch?
I mean, this is a crazy price for a chair, let alone a chaise lounge. OK yes, it is inflatable. I don’t expect it to cost $500 or $1,000.
However, it offers lots of advantages that the more expensive furniture doesn’t. For example, you can pick it up and move it. It weighs less than 8 lbs.
It’s ultra portable. Plus, you can use it outside. In fact, you can deflate it and take it camping or to the beach.
Not to mention, you can carry it from room to room in your house. You can’t easily do that with a regular piece of household furniture.
Inflatable are easy to keep clean. No worrying about spilling or stains or mold. Just take a damp cloth and wipe down any mess and you’re done. No dust mites either.
What About the Shape and Design?
Some people consider the Intex Mega Contoured Chaise Lounge the perfect size. It doesn’t take up too much space in the room, yet it’s large enough to sprawl on and relax.

The Mega Lounge really is comfortable. It’s got that partially-reclined back I was talking about before, plus it has a contoured design that sort of sucks you in once you sit down. (I hope you’re not planning on standing up soon).
It has a cup holder. Now you really don’t need a coffee table – for your feet or your drink. Even if you already have a side table that you want to use, a cup holder is the perfect spot to keep a remote control where it won’t get lost.
It is constructed with durable PVC. Although it won’t last forever, it can hold up for several years if you treat it well. Intex makes quality products, and that has been my experience with all of them.
Inflation and Air Pumps:
The lounge inflates in under 2 minutes with a $10 electric air pump. The $30 chair does not include a pump. I actually prefer choosing my air pump instead of getting a furniture + pump package. This lets me spend as much or as little as I want. You may already have an electric air pump and in this case, you won’t have to pay for another one.
If you are like me, you probably will leave your inflatables inflated all the time, rather than deflating them and then blowing them up again. However, if you want to travel with them or only use them occasionally, it’s good to know that inflation is not a lot of work.
